Abstract

Introducción: El abordaje de la vía respiratoria ha evolucionado mucho en los últimos tiempos. Desde la Máscara laríngea convencional introducida por Brain a finales de la década de los 80 y hasta la fecha, se han utilizado otras alternativas como son el Igel, la Streamlined pharynx airway liner (SLIPA®), Perilaryngeal airway (CobraPLA) y el Soft seal, para mejorar su abordaje.

Objetivos: Identificar las ventajas de los nuevos dispositivos supraglóticos.

Desarrollo: Se realizó una revisión de la literatura sobre el tema, en el cual se abordó la problemática de la vía respiratoria anatómicamente difícil y su abordaje con dos nuevos dispositivos supraglóticos.

Conclusiones: Se concluye que hoy se pone a la disposición de los anestesiólogos dos nuevos dispositivos supraglóticos el I-gel y la Streamlined pharynx airway liner (SLIPA), utilizables para la gestión natural de la vía respiratoria, ambas con buenos resultados y aceptación.
